Pastors' and Leaders' Conferences

Pastors' and Leaders' Conferences

Because of oppressive dictators, Ugandans did not have the right to worship freely until 1986. Since that time, tens of thousands of Ugandan churches have been established, most under the leadership of young, untrained pastors. Even though these leaders pour out their lives for the sake of the gospel, most receive no compensation due to abject poverty and most have extremely limited Biblical understanding.

During our semi-annual Pastors’ and Leaders’ Conferences (led by our sister ministry, Messengers of Hope), hundreds of rural pastors gather to receive vision, equipping and encouragement. Aside from practical teaching, many of these pastors desperately need personal ministry and prayer as they cope with poverty, carry the burdens of their flock, and struggle between starkly contrasting Biblical and societal views on marriage and family.
